Operational tests and testing of the new surface treatment operation are currently under way. The operation consists of three independent painting lines for the application of solvent-based liquid paints and their accessories.
The new painting lines are used for painting large surface area plastic parts and assemblies:
- agricultural machinery;
- construction machinery;
- buses;
- passenger vehicles.
The lines have been installed in the newly constructed paint shop area. They occupy an area of approximately 2,100 m2 (30 × 70 metres).
Further space houses a newly installed incinerator for the disposal of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from the painting process. This occupies approximately 290 m2. The incinerator has a capacity of up to 200,000 m3 of air per hour.
All painting lines consist of painting booths, flow booths, dryers and refrigeration workplaces, including accessories. Each line has its own paint preparation plant forming a separate fire section, in which a complex application technique for the application of various shades of paint is located.
Each line is equipped with a modern control system with visualization. Pre-set parameters (temperatures, times, conveyor speeds, etc.) are monitored and recorded by the control system for the possibility of further processing (printing of guides, statistics, etc.)
The first painting line is fully automated, whereby the transport of parts between workplaces is ensured by a floor transport system, while the application of KNH is ensured by pre-programmed robots.
The second painting line is similar to the first painting line, but the painting is operated manually. The facilities are partially prepared for the future installation of robots.
The third painting line is used exclusively for the manual application of KNH oversized parts, or for small series production of smaller parts.
Above each of the lines there is a large steel platform with an access staircase and escape ladders. On the platforms there are air-conditioning units, heating superstructures for dryers, auxiliary fans, complete air-conditioning pipes, fire-extinguishing systems for the robotic workplaces and electrical switchboards.
